So I have had a brand new, never built, never unboxed Giant Stiletto Chopper for over a year (long story if you don't already know). I have never built it for myself because it just doesn't fit. Not even good enough to be the bar cruiser. I have made a few attempts at selling it but have gotten no where with that either. The bike retailed for over $500 and I am finding them on Ebay for $150. (Want it? Make an offer)
So I have decided to scrap the under sized frame and move the parts on to some thing else. The problem is that even with all the crap I have I dont' have any thing that will work. Couple that with the idea that I don't really want to spend any money on this project and I am in a pickle.
I organilly thought that I would put the fork, headset, stem and a 24" ape hanger (seperate not part of the Stiletto build kit) on my Electra Classic Cruiser... but that isn't going to work since the cruiser sports a 1" head tube... the Stiletto come equiped with a 1 1/8" fork head set and stem... Drat!
So I need a frame and I don't think I am going to find what I need with out spending some money. I ideal frame would be a Surly 1x1. Good tire clearnce and horzional rear drops and a disc brake mount... and it has a good color too boot!
So what to do? I would really like to use the wheels, disc brake, cranks, fork, headset, and stem from the Stiletto build kit. However I am willing to use a different wheel/tire for the rear if I get the right frame (19 to 21 inch frame size). I have a 26" coaster wheel that I can use or a 9 speed 26" wheel that I can single out for use with a canti style brake. But I would prefer to single the 24" wheel that it comes with so I can run the bitch'n 24 x 3.0 tire... its sweet.
Ideas any one? Free or very very cheap frames to be offered? I would be more and happy to trade if I have anything to trade with. Or if the frame is for sale I could juggle some moneys depending on what you have to offer.
Let me know kids... times a wasting and I want to get this project rolling.
Oh.. if any one wants the Stilleto frame, fenders and saddle speak up... I will part with it super cheap, for a trade, or possibly for free... so let me know.
********Recap - 19 to 21 inch MTB frame, good rear tire clearnce, 1 1/8th head tube, disc compatable, cheap free or for trade*****************
