The shop was dead and there alot of us there. I boogied home and got duded up slapped a rear fender on the 29er and went for a ride.
I stuck to the Trolly Track trail by my house that runs from here in Waldo north to the Plaza. The trail is still snow covered and parts of it are pretty brutal. The trail is a gravel like chat trail used for running and doggie walking etc. When its wet its a bit squishy, from all the people walking and running on it and the weather some days being just warm enough for it to thaw and some not its one bumpy bitch today. It was sunny but has been below freezing. Parts of the trail felt like I was riding on the worse frozen horse path in existance. Just a section of it from 71st to 55th us like this. Granted I haven't ridden off road lately but it was rough. In that short section my arms were burning. I was bouncing around enough that my glasses were shakeing off my face. Good times.
It got much better, brutal again on the way home. It was nice to get outside and turn the cranks for a couple of hours. Break the riding on the trainer routine.
Down by Brush Creek was nice. There was still some fresh untracked snow on the walking path along the creek. At least the top layer of the creek was frozen. It looked pretty solid in some spots although I don't think I would walk on it. I found a couple sets of tracks across the ice from on bank to the other. Bad idea I would say, the creek is still moving under the ice its obvious at either end were the little water falls are... or where the fountain is in the center.
Good ride overall. My arms and between my shoulders is a bit sore feeling. Its a good sore so that is ok in my book.
