Appeared to be a bad sign when I stopped at the gas station to shoot some air in the tires of the Green Torpedo and it was sleeting. This could be an interesting day.
Buzzed out to the park stopping along the way for a couple gallons of water and some bananas. Some racers had camped out the previous night... it was a chillllly morning. Not winter cold but "oh man its been 70 degrees and now its 45" cold.
SCotter and I teamed up again for the 4th year in a row for this race. He is by far the strong one in this team. My early season fitness isn't really there. New team name this year: Skunk Eye ...Cotter signed us up...
Frist lap (58.30):

Lap Two Cotter finished faster 50.29.
He checked in and I pedaled out.
Laps Three (58.01)
and Four (1.03.53).
We agreed on doing two laps to start with cause with the 8 mile course you are just really getting in the groove at the end of lap one. I did my two laps. Nothing super, slower than Cotter but good for me. I was feeling good and having fun.
Lap Five. Scott motors out like a man on fire. He was feeling good (I later learned he had taken a nap) and wanted to knock out two laps and then I would do one more.

Not too bad for the day. 5th out of 9 teams for the 6 Hour Duo. Not bad we thought.

Not a bad way to start the racing season.
Up next is the Crank 'n Cruise on the 14th of April.
Then Crocodile Rock on the 29th.
Sometime between now and then I want to get some new tires (these just came out in 29) and go tubless.

Cotter looks tired>>>>>>>>>>>> Can't say I blame him.
He was throw'n down some super lap times.

Cotter's not tired. Now that he's lighter than helium... it's nearly impossible for him to achieve a state of 'tiredness'.
Great job on the race you guys! Great write-up.
it was nice to see the evil crew come flying by me during the race...
next time I see ya, I should offer you a beer. but you were too fast.
