Today is composers Carl Orff's birthday. Granted he died in 1982 but today is still his birthday. You may not realize who he is but you have heard his music. By far his most famous and used peice is Carmina Burana. I hope the guys at work are ready...I be listing to a recording of this peice by the Philadelphia Orchesta a bunch today. Still not sure what Carmina Burana is? It was a text manuscript discovered years ago in a wall of a monisary. The text is very un-monk like and has to do with drinking women and sex. A very eat drink and be merry kind of slant to it. I would love to see the transation. Check out :

Still don't know where you have heard it? Its in the movie Excalibur (I am probably the only dork to own it) and is the music for the crazy sex scene in The Doors.
