Saturday 50

I worked on the Pacer Fridaynight. Got it all ready to ride Saturday. Its been a while since its been really put through its paces, fixed that Saturday.

Left the house at 10. Rode south east for a while. 20 miles later I was walking into a bar on Main Street in Grandwiew to meet up with my Saturday ride partners. Shannon and Mike put on 25 to get there.
Several bar stops on the way, a bit of food. Their ride ended at the River Market where their trasport home was stashed. I headed back up hill in to the wind south back to my house. The last 10 killed me. I had forgotten how strong the wind from the south was today and I was running out of gas to boot. Total miliage read 51 when I got home.
3 riders, 3 bars, 50 miles. Good day good ride. Just what I needed. Needless to say the orginal plan of riding road in the morning and trail in the early evening didn't happen. I am blown out and figured 50 miles was more than enough for one day.
Now I sit exausted and sunburned. Managed to miss putting lotion on my shoulders and they got a bit crispy. Oh well... welcome to spring.
Today I slept in since it was so nice and cool and cloudly out. Never actually made it over to the Soap box derbery. Oh well. Pedaled to have breakfast with Mr Joshua. The rode down to pick up a new copy of The Ultimate Hitch Hiker's Guide. The deluxe version of the Guide with all 5 novels and on story. The last copy I had was loaned out years ago... don't really remember who I loaned it too. Great books if you have never read them. Douglas Adams weaves a wonderful tail. After puting in about 15 miles just running around this morning I could tell the legs were feeling some effects from the 50 Saturday. Bowed out of the trail ride today. Shouldn't have but I just wasn't feeling it today.
